Words collected in Skye and Uist, 19th or early 20th century

 File
Identifier: Coll-98/3/2/11
Scope and Contents

A list of words in alphabetical order, that were collected on the islands of Skye and Uist (presumably Benbecula, Grimsay, North Uist, and South Uist). It is not known who the collector was, or what this document was used for (a dictionary, a dialect survey, a lecture, etc.).

The list starts as "adhar"; the translation of which is unintelligible.

The list ends at "ullarthuis", which apparently translates to English as 'mixed, through, or other'.

Dates: 19th or early 20th century
